Activities to do with Parents

Here are some suggested activities to help get your parents interested and involved with your interest in sports!

  1. Ask them to go out to the park with you to shoot baskets, kick around a ball, play catch, swim at the local pool, ride bikes, or go out hiking.
  2. Check the newspaper for activities that might be occurring on the weekend or holidays. Examples are new hiking areas, sport games, festivals, outings to the shopping mall and visits to the zoo.
  3. Watch a sports event on TV with your parents.
  4. Develop a physical fitness program for you and your parents:
    1. schedule daily stretching exercises
    2. schedule a 30-minute family walking event
    3. purchase pedometers to keep track of the number of steps you and your parents make everyday
  5. Sit and talk
